After falling in love with my 22″ tabletop Blackstone Griddle I reached out to the company and asked them to jump on board as a sponsor of the RVFTA Podcast Network. We only work with companies that we love and trust, and Blackstone fit the bill in a major way. This griddle was fast becoming like my fourth child, needing constant love and attention. The heat (created by two burners on the 22″) distributed so evenly that I was no longer serving pancakes that were burnt on one half, and undercooked on the other.

It is essential you understand the difference between built in and non built in appliances. You could opt for a griddle with a side range top… Or one with air fryer baskets underneath the griddle. There’s also a hybrid option with a charcoal grill to one side. Considering all of the above… Blackstone griddles fit firmly in the economy class. It’s simply to set the stage of where Blackstone griddles fit in.

If you love to cook for friends and neighbors (and even complete strangers that wonder into your backyard) then this is your griddle. Over time, this monster will become your favorite pet. Blackstone says you can cook 28 burgers or 72 hot dogs on this bad boy.

Naturally, grills with fewer features are reasonably priced and a great value. These are a good option for someone who may not need side shelving, storage drawers, or a place to keep paper towels. Blackstone griddles range in price from under $200 to over $1,200, with pricing based on size, feature set, and other factors.

Gas is a great fuel for griddle cooking because it burns hot, clean, and efficiently. Smaller grills can be powered by one-pound propane bottles or grab an adapter hose and larger propane tanks for extended use. The larger griddles require a 20-pound propane tank. For starters, Blackstone griddles use innovative designs to improve upon the otherworldly versatility for which gas griddles are so well known. The large cooking surface on the 22″ allowed me to make just about everything at once. No more making one or two cast iron pancakes at a time and flipping them into a bowl, only to serve them cold minutes later. I know there are work arounds for all of the issues I was having, but the Blackstone solved a few of my major cooking flaws lickety-split. If you’re considering keeping your grill in the same spot for a while, natural gas may be the best option. Most homes already have a natural gas supply and a plumber can run a natural gas line to your cooking area.

I was hooked once I saw how easy it was to handle and cook on. Santa brought me one that Christmas after I wouldn’t shut up about it. I promptly did epic breakfasts, fried rice, country style potatoes and whatever else I could find an blackstone flat top grill excuse to cook on it. After owning it a while and the newness wore off I reflected on what I cooked on it and the accessories I purchased for it. I had a few of those “aha” moments where I wish my future self would have told me about.

It even has wheels that make it easy to move around your backyard. Cook for the entire block when you use the Blackstone 36 in 4-Burner Griddle Station with Hood. If you have an outdoor kitchen or are planning on building one with a dedicated griddle space, any of the tabletop griddles should work. Now that you know where you want the griddle to go, consider what the griddle will sit on. There are many options for both freestanding griddles and griddle cooking stations.

As far as surface materials go… We vastly prefer to see the griddle surface made from 304 stainless steel. You don’t have to worry about rust… And it will last a long time. If you’re interested in purchasing one… It’s worth asking what grade is used in these stainless steel burners.
