The first thing to remember when looking for a bike for your child is that it’s for a child. Summer energy means maybe riding too fast or trying to do too much too soon. Make sure you opt for a bike constructed of steel, NOT aluminum, so that it can survive the spill as well as your child can. Now, we don’t want to harp on how much better a $300 boy’s bike is, but we do just want to make sure that you know what you’re giving up when you decide to go for a bike under $100 – just to set expectations.
