I’m also not super thrilled that the cover Intex sells as an accessory, blows off in the slightest of winds; a problem if you don’t want to clean leaves and bugs out of your pool each day. If we decide to take down our Intex pool before summer’s end I can pretty much predict that this will be the number one reason why. However, the kids didn’t listen to me (as usual) and yet the pool stood firm. And when a nasty storm blew through with winds as high as 50 mph, I held my breath waiting for my beloved pool to collapse; but it didn’t.
There are large drain plugs to drain the pool quickly. Disassembly of the frame is not too difficult, as all the pieces snap together and come apart quickly. Just make sure each piece is labeled so you can reassemble it with ease.
It’s possible with two people, but it helps to have three or four. We found that the instructions are very detailed and easy to follow as long as you read them carefully. The instructions are written for a variety of pool sizes, so be sure to follow the directions for your size pool. We found that the most challenging part about installing this rectangular above-ground pool is site preparation. Some yards may only need light leveling, while others require more work. We live on the side of a mountain, and our yard is sloped, so we intex frame pool had to excavate to create a sloped area.
