Portland, Saco, Brunswick and Kennebunk, Maine Trek, Giant, Electra, & Specialized Bicycles Dealer

This has led to a surge in bike sales and, thus, a depletion of stock. That’s a good thing, because it means more people have discovered bikes. But it’s also frustrating if your goal today is to place an online order for a shiny new bike only to find out that you may have to wait weeks or even months to get it. We’ll keep our eye on inventory and update links as often as we can.

I’m guessing that it’s to do with the price of hyrdaulic road shifters – the Conduct brakes are fitted to the cheaper models, perhaps the margins are thinner there. Hope, amongst others, have had short span cable-to-hydraulic convertors for years now and they seem to get good reviews as a reasonable compromise – so the tech is not without some merit. I’m still somewhat bemused by the difference in price between fully hydraulic road and MTB setups e.g. you can get a very good, complete off-road setup for less than the price of a single Ultegra hydro-STI… The cheaper of the two models is the Devote 2 (above, £1,199) with a Shimano Sora groupset and Tektro mechanical disc brakes. The Liv Avail bikes are pretty much women’s versions of the Giant Defys and Contends. It’s a large range containing nine different models, covering both carbon fibre Advanced and Advanced Pro models as well as aluminium-framed bikes.

It’s insanely light (our Large test bike was 14.5 pounds) and has a beautiful balance of stiffness for superb pedaling efficiency with just the right amount of lateral flexion for hard cornering. SRAM’s wireless RED eTap groupset aids a clean look, although the cockpit isn’t as aero or fully integrated as other similar bikes. The Cadex carbon rims are tubeless ready, and laced with carbon spokes, and the SRAM RED crank is fitted with a Quarq powermeter. In 1995, Giant designed the first road bicycle with a sloping top tube featuring a smaller rear triangle.

In a segmented world of gravel bikes built for niche purposes (long races, short races, touring or singletrack), the Revolt is one of the few that remains open to it all and ready for almost any adventure. The third Trance Advanced Pro 29 model, the 2, features again the same mongoose bmx bike frame and finishing kit from Giant with a 780mm wide handlebar and the Romero SL saddle. All the Advanced pro models feature a TranzX travel-adjustable dropper. Differing from the 1 the 2 has a Fox 34 Float Rhythm fork and Fox Float DPS Performance shock and a GRIP damper.

It’s literally a bike shop from a time before e-commerce and big box became standard practice and they still operate like wise. Brought in the bike and had a quick assessment of the simple mongoose bmx bike fix needed. I asked whether there was a need for further adjustments and there was no need for more services. The work was done well before the expected time so I could pick it up early.

It sees in the Giant TR-1 29 WheelSystem wheels wrapped in the same rubber as the other models above. We’re now at the price point where the carbon frames stop coming. The Trance X 29 1 is built around Giants’ ALUXX SL-Grade Aluminium with a Fox 36 Float Performance fork with a FIT4 damper and a Fox Float DPS Performance shock. The bike mongoose bmx bike comes with a full Shimano SLX drivetrain, Tektro Orion brakes and a Shimano M511 crank with a 30t chainring. As for the wheels, they’re Giant AM 29’s rolling on sealed bearing hubs. The tyres that come on the bike are a Maxxis Minion DHF 29×2.5″, EXO on the front wheel and the rear is a Maxxis Dissector 29×2.4″ to the same spec.
