We do love the added safety of the kick-start motor that requires a child to push off and be moving at 3 mph before the motor kicks in. As for the range, it seemed likely it could go for a bit more than the advertised 40 minutes. I rode the E300 for almost an hour, often at full throttle, and it did not run out of power. The wide deck and plump tires made for a very comfortable ride. I took the E300 down rough asphalt and over the kinds of razor scooter small potholes that dot typical city streets. Although there is no actual spring suspension built into this scooter, the tires nicely absorbed all the vibration. If you’re looking for something sleeker, the Razor Power A2 has a similar range but uses a lithium ion battery, which makes for a slimmer deck.
Be aware, however, that they are still basically toys and Razor is not a luxury brand. We’ve had our own issues with our E100 (keep reading!) and we’ve heard lots of stories of scooters that just stop working or never work out of the box. For example, I like the brushed steel shell over the rear wheel, providing a convenient place to rest my foot.

I usually was able to get around 7 or 8 miles on it before it became too slow to ride, so my trips were often very short.
