Weber Q 1000 1-Burner Silver 8,500-BTU LP Gas Grill

I have to say that I didn’t expect the Q 2200 to function and perform as well as it did. From putting it together to actually using the grill, it has been a wonderful experience all around. And, while I will be using my whole grills for heavy duty grilling and smoking, this has earned its spot in my collection. After all, if portability is what you are after, you also want to keep things simple.

The Weber Q portable gas grill was invented when Weber realized that many people were moving into the city where they wouldn’t have large backyards. Typically, people moved into apartments and all they had was a balcony for outdoor space. These small portable grills make for a great substitute in limited space as an alternative to a full-size grill. Portable grills are also great for bringing tailgating, to the beach, picnic areas, or campsites. Weber Q grills feature a lightweight cast aluminum body that’s rust resistant and durable.

Once the grill cooled, I was able to easily pry off food and build up on the cooking grates. The porcelain coated cast iron grates made this a breeze to do. Like any gas grill, the Weber Q 2200 needs to be cleaned after each use, but it’s incredibly easy to do.

There are typically too many parts, too many tools required, and a complicated manual waiting to be translated. If you like to cook with really high temperatures—I’m talking over 500 degrees—you weber q might have trouble getting there with only one burner. Coleman is one of the most recognizable names in camping, starting out with the development of a gas-powered lantern by W.C.

weber q

He packed up the grill in the bed of his truck, and while he was surprised at its weight—which is more than 40 pounds—he really liked that it felt sturdy and durable. Using the grill, he was able to cook easily for himself and four coworkers, and they all agreed that the burgers and hot dogs came out great. Unequivocally, the Weber Q 1200 is a fantastic portable grill, taking the top spot as our favorite. However, it is relatively expensive compared to other top models we tested. In particular, the Cuisinart Grillster produces a ton of power for a gas grill, and is offered at a phenomenal price. The infrared Solaire Everywhere also packs a punch for its size, and should be on the radar of any meat griller.

If you’re looking for the most portable grill and don’t need as much cooking space, the Q1200 can fit the bill. If you need more cooking space and are willing to deal with a bit more heft, the weber q Q2200 provides nearly 100 more square inches of cooking space. Portable gas grills work with 1-pound liquid-propane canisters that are small, packable, and available at most hardware stores.

As a result, we had to manage moderate flare-ups while cooking burgers, chicken, and brats. Grilling with charcoal does have some downsides that make it less convenient, especially with a portable grill. Briquettes are bulky and messy, staining anything weber q they touch with soot and ash. Plus you have the added chore of snuffing out hot coals and emptying ashes after grilling. By the way, I realize that everyone has different needs for their grills and that styling preferences are purely subjective.

If you are looking for a temperature higher than this, though, you may find the Weber Q 2200 faltering. I also can’t imagine too many instances when you would need this kind of power, especially when grilling in small outdoor spaces. A whole chicken or even a small brisket shouldn’t be too much hard work on this grill. Thus, you do have a few more options for what you can cook with the Weber Q2200. And, when you compare it to other portable grills in its class, this is definitely the heftier option. Like a kid on Christmas, I couldn’t help but try out the Weber Q 2200 the day I got it.
