This makes it much better for the user and does add a lot of control to the rider but takes away some top speed. The geometry is comfortable, and this bike is going to be a pleasure to go on and off-road with. These bikes will suit users from 5’0″ all the way to 6’5″ depending on the frame size. Kudos to Singletracks for testing an inexpensive mountain bike. I noticed you did not install the “required” reflectors, so why not remove the kickstand and save a little weight and reduce one of the noise makers? Also, not sure they make them for this application, but I have had good luck with discobrakes brake pads working better with mechanical disk brakes as a cheap upgrade.
