The Zojirushi ET-WMC22 toasted so unevenly that the bread looked like someone with terrible aim had zapped it with a laser. The power cord protrudes from the bottom of the oven which can create some inconvenient bends. Nonetheless, roughly 35″ is plenty of cord length for household use. However, the oven doesn’t have a storage place hamilton beach toaster oven for the cord. Our measurements of the oven’s footprint were 18.5″ x 15.56″ x 9.41″—marginally different from the manufacturer’s provided 18.74″ x 15.24″ x 9.41″. Toaster ovens, on the other hand, typically last longer, which may be in part because the heating elements are enclosed or better protected by metal guards to prevent damage.
If there’s counter space in front of it, the handle would hit the counter. If it’s placed close to the edge of a counter, the hinge would get jarred. Since most of the door is glass, I suggest not slamming it in either direction and making it a point to close it gently. While it fits under my kitchen cabinets, I wouldn’t recommend using it in that location because of the heat it produces.
It is nice for using for potatoes, garlic bread, or smaller entrees. I have never used it for pizza, but if you had a small one, you could probably make it fit. I use this in the summertime, especially, when I do not feel like using the large oven and want to just make something quick. The one downside that I have found is that the timer makes a dinging sound the entire time is counting down. You turn the dial to the time you want it to be and as is keeping track it ticks.
In fact, it received higher scores than some bigger, fancier models with double or triple the price tag. Coupled with a thirty minute timer, the toaster oven shuts itself hamilton beach off at the end of its cooking time. While wiping it clean was easy, I’d suggest being careful to not slop water or food into the convection fan’s vent holes in the oven.
But we think that’s a forgivable drawback considering the low price. We recommend the Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven for those who want a small oven to make toast, prepare a few frozen snacks, or reheat a couple slices of pizza. We are smitten with its adorable retro 90s design, and after years of long-term testing we continue to be impressed with its strong baking performance, compact size, and reasonable price. For a relatively low price, this toaster oven stands out from a crowded pack of mediocre, cheap models.
With a cord length of 35 inches, I could place it almost anywhere in my kitchen. That also does away with the possibility of spilling food on the door and having to clean it up. The roll top door appeared to be slightly safer than the traditional fold-down style.
