The Instant Pot Duo SV is another Costco-exclusive Instant Pot model. It has been replaced by the Duo Gourmet and is in the process of being phased out. The Instant Pot Duo’s exterior is has been available in mint, white, and coral. You can also get the Duo in the exclusive Pioneer Woman floral design and in black or red stainless steel through Walmart.
This large pro model has all the same functionality of the Duo Crisp, plus an upgraded lid with advanced heat protection, auto-sealing, and gentle quick release. The sturdier stainless-steel inner pot is made to handle anything; it’s stovetop friendly and oven safe up to 450ºF. It also comes with a handful of accessories, including a versatile stainless-steel rack, a multi-level air fryer basket with a instant vortex tray for broiling and dehydrating, and a protective pad and storage cover. I gave the nod to the Pro Crisp because I prefer the pot, display, and redesigned pressure cooking lid of the Pro Crisp model. However, the Duo Crisp offers the same cook settings for pressure cooking and air frying at a lower price point. The control panel makes navigating its multiple cooking features and settings quite easy.
On the other hand, stainless steel has a long and proven pedigree of being dishwasher safe and thus doesn’t elicit the same debate. Although the inner pot is dishwasher safe, it didn’t quite fit snugly in my dishwasher, so I had instant vortex to handwash it in soapy water. All you have to do to release the steam is press this button, that’s it. Be aware that different Instant Pot sizes cook differently, but most online instructions are designed for 6-quart models.
So if you feel really nervous about going off recipe, I’d recommend using a 6-quart. If you’re still interested in this product, it’s instant vortex 99% identical to the current Instant Pot Duo. The seven cooking functions and the thirteen smart programs are pretty much the same.
