7 BBQ Cooking Demo on Weber Q1200 and Q2200 YouTube Weber recipes, Cooking, Weber q recipes

There is a griddle plate available that will turn half of your grill into a griddle. It’s great for those who like to cook breakfast or want to whip up some caramelized onions or bacon for burgers. The Q1200 tends to run hot, even on its lowest setting, which is perfect for direct grilling. For those of you who live to grill with indirect heat, it isn’t done well on a unit with a single burner. If indirect cooking is necessary, Weber suggests is that you use a grill basket to create a little more distance from the flame. It uses small, disposable 14oz or 16oz propane tanks for fuel.

In case you think that this is a trivial feature, it isn’t one that is available with many larger models. At the same time, it saves you both money and hassle in having to buy third party side tables for outdoor grilling. Both of these grills also work like big barbecues.

These two grills are larger than the Q1000 series but retain their portability. The larger size means not only more grilling space but also a taller lid. This tabletop grill gives you many more cooking options, such as roasts, ribs, even whole chickens, and smaller turkeys. Indeed a strong combination of portability and full-size grill cooking. The major difference between these models is that the Q1200 has a thermometer built into the grill lid. The Q1200 also comes with an electronic ignition compared to the 1000’s clicky push button.

There is a stand available that would make it easier to haul. But, after paying more money for a practically stationary weber charcoal grill, a stand may not seem that viable. I suppose that it depends on how much more a Weber Q1200 appeals to you. You may be asking if the new and old grills are so similar, why take the time to create a fresh review at all? I’m not even sure that I would have, except that I still own a Weber Q grill.

Like most people, i don’t enjoy cleaning grills, but this model certainly made the experience a lot better. Once the grill cooled, I was able to easily pry off food and build up on the cooking grates. The porcelain coated cast iron grates made this a breeze weber q to do. As with all Weber BBQ grills, intelligent design coupled with quality construction produces an attractive cooker that works great. The heavy cast aluminum housing holds and distributes heat while the cast iron grates can do a decent job of searing.

The Q 2200 is powered by liquid propane, and I used disposable 1-pound canisters that were hanging around my basement. Like any gas grill, the Weber Q 2200 needs to be cleaned after each use, but it’s incredibly easy to do. Once the grill cooled down a bit after cooking, I used my wire brush to clean food and grease off the grates. Everything came off the porcelain-enameled cast iron easily, especially because the grates were still a bit warm.
