2004 2022 Chevy Equinox Oil Type & Capacity

Castrol® GTX® is a premium conventional motor oil that has been helping to extend engine life for over 50 years. It has evolved to meet the needs of consumers and vehicle manufacturers since 1968 and continues to innovate and remain a trusted brand today. Severe driving Castrol GTX conditions such as heavy traffic, poor fuel quality, harsh driving conditions and exceeding oil change intervals can all cause the build-up of a thick, tar like substance called sludge. If untreated, it can rob a car’s engine of its power and ultimately its life.

CASTROL GTX FULL SYNTHETIC OIL Castrol GTX Full Synthetic provides maximum protection to help fight the impact of severe conditions that can potentially shorten engine life. It has been proven to dramatically reduce wear on critical engine parts. It also cleans away old sludge and protects against new sludge formation, giving you more control over today’s difficult driving conditions and miles more driving enjoyment. Castrol is a British oil company that markets industrial and automotive lubricants, offering a wide range of oil, greases and similar products for most lubrication applications. The name Castrol was originally just the brand name for company’s motor oils, but the company eventually changed its name to Castrol when the product name became better-known than the original company name CC Wakefield.

These oils offer enhanced deposit control, outstanding economy, and low-speed pre-ignition. The 2010 – 2012 Chevy Equinox models powered through 3.0L 6-cylinder and 3.6L 6-cylinder engines requiring 5.5qts to 6qts. You may also happen to have a drivetrain of 2.4L 4-cylinder running on 5 qts.
