If I don’t get a new one for free I will not recommend and not buy another Keurig. I will also post on the Keurig website about my troubles. At the time of publishing, the black version was the most affordable. However, looking at historical data, the price seems to fluctuate between different colors. Oasis and Studio Gray can be much more affordable than Black.
With the latch open, it’s roughly 13 inches in height. Its slim silhouette fits neatly on a counter and can easily stand between other appliances you may already have in your kitchen. Using the My K-Cup does do away with some of the convenience Keurig brewers are known for. You’ll have to add about a minute or two of prep and cleanup to your morning coffee routine. If that’s incompatible with busy weekday mornings, maybe consider this option for slower weekend brews. Better yet, the Hamilton Beach coffee makers work with the My K-Cup refillable pod.
While the K-Classic may have a larger water reservoir, the K-Mini basically performs the same job at a lower cost and with less counter space. Plus, it can brew K-Cups up to 12-ounces — the K-Classic has a cap of 10. Its stow-away Cuisinart Coffee power cord makes it easy to hide unwanted visual clutter and easier to bring the K-Mini along for a weekend trip. As you might guess from the tiny size of the K-Mini Plus, it doesn’t offer a huge number of custom brewing features.
Keurig has addressed these concerns by saying that their specifications require that k-cups pods be constructed from plastic which does not contain BPA or phthalates. They also added that the temperature of the water dispensed in Keurig brewers is well below the melting and softening points of the pod materials. What Hamilton Beach that means is that there should be no plastic leaches from the pod into the beverage. Keurig fans will appreciate K-Mini’s clean and modern design. A small size makes it perfect for a variety of spaces . It’s a great option for single coffee drinkers and those who want a small and compact machine on a budget.
For coffee lovers who like their coffee on the go, this feature is worth its weight in gold. It quickly becomes tiresome brewing into a smaller coffee mug and transferring it to a travel mug, and a Keurig coffee maker should be all about convenience. The Plus model has coffee pod storage for up to 9 coffee pods, while the original Mini does not, despite having the same dimensions. The Keurig K-Mini Plus is great if you’re looking for a super-slim coffee maker with a few features of convenience, like the Strength Control setting and removable reservoir.
Keurig K-Mini and K-Mini Plus are aimed squarely at those with limited countertop space. You can also use the My K-Cup universal filter with this model.
Temperature is another vital part of brewing coffee, and the National Coffee Association says the optimal cup is brewed between 195 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit. The K-Mini is unable to produce coffee at this temperature. Out of four cups of coffee, each cup I brewed ranged between 180 to 189 degrees Fahrenheit, despite the serving size.
You may feel like you’re the only person in the world who needs a miniature yet stylish coffee machine, but trust us when we say you’re not alone. Unlike the K-Classic, the K-Mini doesn’t look like a hulking machine. It’s roughly 12 inches tall, and 4.5 inches wide, which is almost half the width of the K-Classic.
Great little one cup coffee maker and a wonderful choice of colors. I took it to the beach for a “girl’s weekend getaway” and we enjoyed it so much more than brewing a full pot of coffee each morning. We were each able to choose our own brand of coffee and did not have to drink from a large pot that usually would run out before we all had our fill. It’s even small and light enough to be considered portable, at least in the context of road trips.
