Weber Spirit II E-210 44020001 Grill Review

One area that it is lacking in slightly is its build quality and design. When your lid handle gets so hot that it melts after only one use, then there’s something wrong! If you notice on all those photos above, Weber has put a warning label right next to the ignition button stating not to touch the polycarbonate plastic shell when hot. The propane tank installation however was a bit confusing .

And one of our guide writers, Lesley, owned the Spirit II E-210 for years before passing it off to a friend (to make room for long-term testing the Genesis II E-310). She recounts that the Spirit II E-210 held consistent temperature across the cooking grate, and flare-ups were never an issue. As a company, Weber constantly refines its designs, even on its classic charcoal kettle grill, which has been around for well over 60 years. And, again, Weber’s warranty covers all parts of the Spirit II E-310 for a full 10 years.

2 stainless steel burners are connected to the front panel and allow for temperature control even during indirect cooking and battery-powered ignition system. Before wrapping up, let’s take a look at how the Weber Spirit II E 310 gas grill holds up against other models. This may have a Blackstone Adventure lower price, but the E 310 outclasses it in cooking surface area, power, and the number of burners, so there is no competition, really. Primary cooking grates made of stainless-steel are generally sturdier than those made of coated steel and resist rust even without a porcelain coating.

Some of the niche features, like the Spirit II’s propane scale and its optional integration with the iGrill 3 smart temperature probe are really nice extras. Ultimately, though, they aren’t worth spending three hundred dollarsmore ($400 more if you also buy the $100 iGrill 3). The scale isn’t fancy; little red lines let you know the level of your propane tank. It’s definitely helpful if you don’t want to deal with the hassle of hauling the tank to the store knowing there’s a chance you still have some propane left over.

The porcelain coating usually makes such grates easier to clean than other surfaces, and the grates should resist rust as long as their porcelain coating isn’t chipped. Next time you weber spirit 2 cook, brush the cold, soot-covered grills clean, wipe them with a wet paper towel or rag, and then proceed. That goes against the common advice to clean the grates while they’re hot.

Being the smallest in the series, the Weber Spirit E-210 is even more compact than its Genesis counterparts. At this point, I should also mention that it’s also the more affordable one. Despite its dimensions, however, this model features the same expert construction and high-quality materials as all Weber grills. With hooded grills, over time the grease and carbon build-up can take on the look of flaking paint. Rest assured it isn’t, and it can be easily removed with a good brush into a tray and disposed of.

I also like that the grill has indicators that let you know where exactly to adjust the burner knobs for high, medium and low heat. It also doesn’t have a spot to hide the propane tank like the Spirit II’s competitors. That isn’t necessarily a deal-breaker, but it looks less streamlined since you can easily see the tank versus hiding it behind a couple of doors.

Despite this, you would be surprised to see how many other brands don’t bother with such an important function. Maintaining a grill is not hard, and if you do it right, you can add years to the life of your grill. Of course, you may also have concerns about how each of these fuel choices might impact the environment. There’s no easy answer, but we discuss some of the considerations in the sustainability section below. Experts and our testing confirm this range is where you’ll find the best value, with grills that perform great and can last a decade or more. It’s worth the cost…had our last Weber for 15 years…frame rusted out due to our seaside residence…but grill still worked perfectly.

Common to both Spirit and Spirit II, Weber grills come with some excellent wheels that make the movement of the grills smoother. For many, aesthetics is as important an element as functionality in a grill. An aesthetically pleasing grill comes with an elegant design, manages space well, and blends in well with its surroundings. Both Spirit and Spirit II grills are priced at the higher end of the spectrum (when compared to other grills in the market. Among themselves, Spirit II is more affordable).
