Gotham Steel 10-Piece Non-Stick Aluminum Cookware Set

We’ve been covering nonstick cookware since 2016, and we understand how confusing the subject can be. Branding jargon such as “diamond” or “ceramic titanium” is unclear, and it makes comparison shopping a daunting task. But when we cut through all of that hyped-up marketing verbiage, we found that there are only two main types of nonstick coatings.

However, we don’t recommend pans with an encapsulated bottom for use on radiant-heat cooktops, such as gas, electric coil, and glass. These cooking surfaces tend to overheat the pan’s sides, resulting in hot spots that can accelerate the breakdown of nonstick coating. While we don’t run a professional kitchen ourselves throughout testing for our review, we found Cookware Sets that this cookware set held up a lot better to the heat. In addition, the hard-anodized coating adds a very good layer of protection to the pans and pairs well with the nonstick coating on the other side. The stainless steel handle also contributes to the quality of this product line. For those looking to truly overhaul their cookware cabinet, look no further.

You’d never whisk eggs in a non-stick pan, but with Gotham™ Steel you can! Burnt cheese is a frying pan disaster, not to Gotham™ Steel. The Gotham Steel cooking set is available in only three colors. This means you won’t get as many color options to go for you’ll get with the Rachael ray Cucina cooking set. You can get it in either red, graphite or turquoise, and no matter which one you pick, we think the color choices are all excellent. Each piece in the set is made of aluminium, and this makes for easier handling since the metal is lightweight.

We will go more into that later on, but it’s worth noting here. We tested all of these claims, and more to get to the bottom of these claims are indeed as good as stated. Between all four Gotham Steel cookware sets, there are many differences to go through, but first, we will give an overall look at what Gotham Steel has to offer.

You might be wondering, doesn’t Gotham Steel advertise their Tri-Cerama coating as metal-utensil-safe? In fact, in their infomercials, you’ll see people beating eggs inside the pan with an electric mixer to show how tough these pans are. Polytetrafluoroethylene is a polymer used in Teflon pans and most non-stick coatings.

The latter is especially important when you’re using induction or ceramic cooktops, where full contact with the burner is key. Well-balanced pans also make it easier to swirl crepe batter and flip delicate foods. But balance doesn’t mean much if the handle is uncomfortable to grip or awkwardly angled. Short for polytetrafluoroethylene, PTFE is a synthetic polymer that repels water and reduces friction. Not only is it used for cookware, but it’s also a common material in joint replacements, among other applications.

If you want a set that works on all cooktops and you have the extra bucks to spare, we liked the Anolon SmartStack 11-Piece Cookware Set. During our testing we found all of these sets to be a great product. Which one you choose will entirely depend on how often you cook and your proce point.

Stainless steel is generally more sturdy and longer lasting than plastic or aluminum, and can handle high heat without any damage or discoloration. The Gotham Steel pan looks and feels like a high-quality pan, but is quite inexpensive. The durable PTFE and PFOA-free coating is oven and dishwasher safe, and adds to the versatility of the pan. T-Fal cookware has a similar price point to Gotham Steel but might come with a few more pieces per set. T-Fal has a much more straightforward look for those people who don’t want to showcase their cookware in the kitchen.

The handle is comfortable to hold and comes with a removable silicone sheath. The 10-inch pan’s surface is the perfect size for cooking a three-egg omelet, and its flared sides are well angled, for gotham steel cookware sets easy flipping. We also like that this pan is available in four sizes to accommodate different cooking needs. Just as with traditional skillets, nonstick pans with flared sides perform the best.
