Our outdoor kitchen design experts have helped thousands of customers transform their backyards at no extra cost. The weber charcoal grill 2200 has the same features as the Q 2000, but also has the additional feature of the built-in thermometer. You help support OutdoorGearLab’s product testing and reviews by purchasing from our retail partners. Though slightly lacking on space, this grill has ample power to cook up any meal you can dream up.

I am not going to give exact prices in here because that changes on a regular basis. However, in general terms, the combined cost of the Q2200 and the cart is about $50 more expensive than the Traveler. Grill is attached to the cart for quick & easy setup. I have been cooking on both a Traveler and a couple of Weber Q’s for months now and wanted to share my thoughts on a Head to Head comparison.

From putting it together to actually using the grill, it has been a wonderful experience all around. And, while I will be using my whole grills for heavy duty grilling and smoking, this has earned its spot in my collection. In general, though, this gas grill is pretty easy to use. After a quick read through of the manual, even first timers shouldn’t have too much trouble figuring how it works. If you are looking for a temperature higher than this, though, you may find the weber q 2200 faltering. Of course, this is true of bigger and more expensive grills.

An easy-to-read, integrated thermometer helps you accurately track temperature, and fold-out side tables offer plenty of space for your BBQ tools. While its weight and lack of latching lid make it less than ideal for carrying into remote picnic sites, the Weber Q 1200 is the ideal companion for road tripping and car-camping. Many portable grills function to cook food but lack the finesse needed for grilling more than hot dogs and burgers. This one brings power and control to this category better than the competition. We purchased the Q1200 to carry along on camping trips. It’s compact, rugged design stores easily when traveling.

The 1000 is the basic model of the Weber Q portable series. But don’t let the word “basic” discourage you from buying this model. It’s considered a staple in the Weber world and is a great portable propane grill to own. The Q 1000 features a rust resistant cast aluminum lid and body, making the grill lightweight, but still durable. The ignition is an electronic push-to-start, so firing up the grill for a cookout is quick and easy.

The cooking surface is similar in size to grills found in many campgrounds. We purchased the Q1200 on the recommendation of other campers. We have a larger Weber grill for home use and felt good about the quality of Weber products based on our past experience. I recommend this grill for couple or small families, especially campers. Weber Q1200 gas grill features 2 large size fold-out tables, 8500 btu, split porcelain enameled cast iron grates, 189 sq.in.

Even in this crowded marketplace, many consumers are still willing to pay more for the Weber name and they are rarely disappointed. Their iconic weber charcoal grill black charcoal kettles are known throughout the world. One of the benefits of this gas grill – and others like it – is that size doesn’t matter.
