Keurig K-Mini Single Serve Coffee Maker, Oasis

Its 5-inch design makes it perfect for studio apartments, tiny dorm rooms, and small officers. Its convenient size comes as no surprise to us, as the entire Keurig brand aims to make coffee easy and accessible to anyone. It has a single light around its large brew button to show when your machine is heating up, and, of course, it has a latch to raise the compartment that the pod slots into. You can add however much ground coffee you like to your reusable K-Cup , providing another way to play with coffee strength. Most coffee lovers find that K-Cups are under-dosed, particularly for brewing larger coffees.

Perfect for the coffee lover who prefers a bolder coffee. It brews coffee a little slower than I thought it would. It makes a nice single cup of coffee for me each morning as I start my day. The water reservoirs of both machines are the same size, offering a minimum of 6oz and a maximum of 12oz. There are water level marks on the side to determine the volumes, making filling the water tank straightforward.

The idea of a single-serve may be appealing to someone who lives alone, but you can’t make big batches of coffee at once to accommodate more people. In fact, you have to refill the reservoir for every cup, so you can’t even continually hit the brew button. The machine has a strong brew button for a stronger flavor.

Check out our Keurig K-Classic review for a great option. This mid-priced model is just as straightforward to use but includes a 48 ounce removable water reservoir. The Keurig K-Mini Plus coffee maker is a first generation Keurig machine that is compatible only with 1.0 coffee pods, rather than the newer 2.0 pods. This is to the consumer’s advantage, as 1.0 pods are much more readily available and affordable .

So while the K-Mini Plus doesn’t have a lot of custom brewing options, it certainly delivers when it comes to making your life easy. That’s just one reason we think it’s among the best small coffee makers. If you’re comfortable investing a few extra bucks, the K-Mini Plus is clearly the better of the two machines.

Your attention was focused on the two boxes that appeared to contain the same product but had a gap in price that would imply that one is different than the other. The point is that sometimes the differences are minute, and it comes down to price and how that affects options. Meanwhile, the brewing time is even shorter than the K-Mini, and each of these factors leads to a weaker drink. The Keurig K-Slim has a similar price tag to the K-Mini Plus. However, the K-Slim’s water tank is a far larger 46oz, meaning you won’t need to refill it between each brew. On the other hand, the Keurig K-Mini Plus only brews one cup of coffee at a time.

This is great news for people who like drinking their coffee in larger volumes, or want to brew more than 6oz of coffee for whatever reason. With this coffee maker, it’s all about enjoying coffee, as opposed to indulging in the coffee brewing process. I did not need any advanced skills or knowledge in order to brew a neat cup of coffee. If you really like this model but you want a bigger water tank, they now make Keurig K-Slim. It looks exactly like K-Mini Plus, has 3 cup sizes, but comes with a 46 ounce removable water tank. This machine includes pod storage that slides right into your brewer to hold nine of your favorite K-Cups when you’re not using it.

Even a water reservoir will get dirty after a while, and being able to remove that and clean it is worth a few bucks. Reflects the ability of the coffee maker to accept two pods or other capsules at a time to make a stronger or larger cup of coffee. To make coffee, pour between 6 – 12 ounces of water into the tank and close the lid. Insert one k-cup, close the handle and press Brew button . The light will pulse while it’s heating the water which will take approximately 2 minutes. When the light turns solid, the coffee will start brewing.
