Weber Grill Q 1000, 1200, 1400, 2000, 2200, 2400 and Q3200 Review

One of the few grills I’ve kept around after reviewing was a Weber Q1200. While I completely understand that it’s not the right grill for everyone, it’s the right grill for many people. A stainless steel Q-shaped burner tube produces 8,500 BTUs of heat, which the grill efficiently and evenly disperses across the entire grill surface. It takes minutes to preheat thoroughly, but it must be preheated with the lid down.

It will pay for itself on the first fill, but it means carrying an extra tank around. Do you want a small grill that’s easy to move on foot? Overall, the 1200 is a quality-made product, but there are three things to watch. I feel there one massive strike against it being genuinely portable.

I called Weber they recommended I loosen all, the screws so I could try and get the can to fit that way…how ridiculous. Paid to much to have to go through that eventide you want to change the propane can. I wholeheartedly recommend the portable bbq1200 portable grill.

I’m not even sure that I would have, except that I still own a Weber Q grill. I feel like I’d be doing a disservice if I didn’t give you the most accurate review possible. Very little has changed since I reviewed two Weber Q grills over seven years ago. A slight model name change and some cosmetic updates are the only differences between the old and new grills. The Q line of grills still have all of the same features, the same specifications and most importantly, they all operate the same and produce the same results.

An easy-to-read, integrated thermometer helps you accurately track temperature, and fold-out side tables offer plenty of space for your BBQ tools. While its weight and lack of latching lid make it less than ideal for carrying into remote picnic sites, the Weber Q 1200 is the ideal companion for road tripping and car-camping. Many portable grills function to cook food but lack the finesse needed for grilling more than hot dogs and burgers. This one brings power and control to this category better than the competition. We purchased the Q1200 to carry along on camping trips. It’s compact, rugged design stores easily when traveling.

The regulator is integrated into the body and employs an infinite controller that is easily adjusted between clearly marked low, medium, and high settings. The body and the lid of weber q1000 is made of cast aluminum, making it durable as well as lightweight. The burner, on the other hand, is made from high-grade stainless steel, while the iron-cast cooking grates are coated with porcelain for additional protection. If this was not enough, Weber has reinforced nylon frame with glass, making this grill quite tough. The highlight of the Q 1200 is its porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grates. This is the same material that is known as the signature of top-quality cookware like Le Creuset.

We rarely recommend products we haven’t tested and we never recommend products that we don’t love. Often, but not always, if you purchase weber genesis 2 a product after clicking a link on our site we get a finder’s fee. We recommend products based on quality and price, not on fees.

If your Weber grill is beginning to show its age, replacement parts can breathe new life into it at only a fraction of the cost of a new grill. Make easy and fast repairs to your Weber model with a vast assortment of the authentic parts and accessories we have in stock. You can call the Q2200 portable if you want but there are no lid latches on the grill, it is a pain to carry and the optional folding cart is incredibly flimsy. Both grills are solidly built but with very different materials. The Traveler is sleeker than the Q series with a lower profile lid.

There is a griddle plate available that will turn half of your grill into a griddle. It’s great for those who like to cook breakfast or want to whip up some caramelized onions or bacon for burgers. However, Weber warns that only one griddle plate can be used at a time, as using two will likely cut off airflow to the burner, kill the flames and cause a propane buildup. There is also a very durable porcelain coating covering the grates.
