If you can get the 32BT set and the overall price is still decent, I think that would be an even better solution. I personally like the 3040s better than the 5018s. The actual head is slimmer since there’s no foil frame surrounding the cutting elements and it feels more nimble and also glides easier on the skin. The longer flat hairs were an issue and the shaver found it hard to pick them up. This is why it seems to work best without too much growth (i.e., less than 3 days). I enjoy wet shaving, however, in terms of closeness I did not notice any difference in closeness.
Blades – This shaver is a foil type that operates with three flexible blades. These movable blades adapt to the contours of a user’s face. Works well, easy to hold and use even with limited use hands. Not as close as some but no neck rash issues.
Please double-check which model you are purchasing, as it can be a bit confusing. There are Braun Series s, 5145s and 5190cc in the same category. The only one included with the charging and cleaning station is the Braun Series cc, and the others are not. Braun Series cc is an excellent choice for a reasonable price for those who prefer having the machine self-clean rather than cleaning it manually after each shave. The shaver head is flexible and can be directed in 8 directions to make sure constant skin contact and even shaving.
The corded use is one tradeoff I’ll make any time and day of the week. I’d keep this one ahead of some of the rotary shavers. Rotary shavers run the risk of pulling on your beard and skin while you go about your shaving routine.
When you compare it to the 5090 (it’s older brother), there’s a 5-minute improvement. Thankfully, Braun reconsidered Remington Shaver and went with a brand-new LED attachment with 5190cc. This thing is clearer in terms of intensity.
This LED display keeps you updated with the battery life. It flashes whenever the device needs cleaning as well. Yes, that’s the reason the 5190 is a good choice if you have sensitive skin. It’s forgiving and easy on your skin pores compared to the Panasonic ARC 4. Believe me, faster is not always a better alternative for us who need a bit of care. I wouldn’t deny that the black and red color schemes combined look classy.
The trimmer has received quite a few complaints on how small it is compared to the trimmer on the previous Series 5 shaver.
