The battery will hold its power for 30 days, so there’s no worry if it has been sitting for a while. The battery can also be left in the charger—it won’t overcharge. The build quality of most of the battery operated chainsaws, trimmers, blowers that I’ve held do not feel very skookum. There’s not really a mower designed to cut that kind of land, and I’d have to have more trimmer/blower batteries than I’d like to pay for. I’d like to see them bring out an attachment system capability with the CF shaft but I wonder how the real weight savings over the AL shafted products actually is. No more mixing gas and oil but still having the power.
Although the weight is tolerable, fatigue easily sets in without extra support. Haven’t yet had to reload so no information there. Battery lasted a full hour+ and recharged to full charge in similar time. The world’s first string trimmer with POWERLOAD™ Technology!

Biggest thing – attachement capable as I was also getting the edger attachment. Never edging with a trimmer flipped over ever again – just not worth it. Many companies moved to a split shaft on it saves on shipping and boxes. But for others the split boom allows for an attachment system.
It does just fine around chain link, but that really depends on your line choice. I love the ECHO twisted line, it cuts really fast and well, but around fence, if just gets chewed up. There is tougher line that doesn’t eat away, but then it usually doesn’t cut as well either.

The batteries run plenty of time in the mower. With both batteries charged, the whole lawn and trimming gets done easily. We also felt less vibration in this model compared to most others. It’s easy on the hands, and even after hours of use, we didn’t feel our hands go numb as they do with some other models. Instead of taking apart the head—or even winding it manually—you simply feed the 0.095″ line through one of the holes and pull it out the other end. Then, you pull the ends even so that the line centers up. As you hold down the button on the back of the motor, the Powerload head ratchets the line up evenly.
No more loud noise and smelling like fumes. It’s a good company that has well designed tools and great warranties. Typical work around that’s recommended, if time is an issue is to drop off unit for warranty service, buy temporary replacement tool.
