Release the start handles and self-propel levers to turn off the headlight. Release either set of start handle and drive lever from the same side. Always remove the safety key and battery pack after you complete the work. The machine can be set to different cutting heights.
It indicates which battery pack the mower currently draws from, and how much power each battery has at any given time. A fully depleted battery needs about 30 minutes to full recharge. Tap the Position button at the bottom of the screen to see where the mower is and where it’s been on a satellite map. There’s also a Frost Guard setting that monitors the current temperature and sun joe lawn mower will delay the work cycle if there’s a risk of frost. In this mode you’ll have to physically pull the mower out of the charging station and push it back in to restart everything. Designed for lawns of up to half an acre, the Optimow 50H measures 12.2 by 20.0 by 25.0 inches , weighs 26.4 pounds, and has an IPX5 water-resistance rating that means you can wash it off with a hose.
The quickness to full chain speed will surprise you if you are unfamiliar with cordless saws. Allowing for three forms of grass discharge allows you flexibility when it comes to how you mow your yard. Because of the single battery, I am going to give the EGO 56V 21-in mower the edge here. The 80V ran for a commendable 27 minutes. Realistically it will run for a solid couple of hours of making cuts. Although this isn’t the longest-lasting battery we’ve tested, we’d still recommend this model for professional and heavy-duty use.
You can operate the mower just fine without the app, but for the complete experience, there are some added features. Start by scanning the QR code on your quick start guide, download the app, create an account if you don’t already have one, and pair the mower using the serial number and pairing code. It sounds more complicated than it is and takes less than 10 minutes to get started. There’s a step-by-step guide in the manual if you need more details.
Greenworks also includes a high-lift set of blades in the kit which produces better results when bagging at the expense of some runtime. Greenworks designed these blades to rotate in opposite directions. They did this so that both blades direct grass straight back into the bag.
The wide cutting deck allows you to mow your lawn efficiently by cutting down on the number of passes required to mow it. There is also a height-adjustment lever that lets you choose from seven cutting heights, allowing you to give your lawn a smooth, polished, even look. My Greenworks 60v handles my yard much better than my previous EGO 56v mower, mainly because the EGO mower didn’t have side discharge and plugged up at the drop of a hat.
