Phantom 4 Pro

The beauty of a quadcopter of this calibre is that it hovers in place without any user input. In fact, the first time you see how stable it can hover is a rather spooky experience. One important thing to remember though is that even with 20-ish minutes of flight time, you’ll always want to return with at least 5 minutes worth of battery power ‘in the tank’. This is just to ensure any unforeseen circumstances, such as a strong head wind, getting lost, or whatever else.

Whatever the original camera sees so will the Survey3W camera. Aerial 4K video shot from a P4P is hard to separate from 4K video shot from more expensive drones. The 3-axis gimbal stabilizes it, and the 60fps rate lets you edit for slow motion. Video output is improved at 100mbps, up from 60 on older models of the dji drones.

It also gets an excellent flight time of 30 minutes — great for pro pilots to get the shots they need and minimize downtime. This program is your security blanket when you signal the dji fly Pro+ V2.0 to return to base. The aircraft follows the safe path it just took, or if that path is unavailable, it finds its way using GPS and obstacle avoidance.

Phantom 4 can fly up to 44.7mph in Sport Mode while in ATTI Mode it can fly up to 35.8mph. Phantom 4 will use GPS/Glonass and its Vision Positioning System to achieve precision while hovering. In ATTI Mode, GPS and Vision Positioning System will not function to aid the aircraft in terms of hovering or navigation. The horizontal speed of the Phantom 4 in ATTI mode is 35.8mph (57.6kph).

There are also a number of multispectral sensors for drones on the market including the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. The Return to Home feature on the Phantom 4 Pro 2.0 is much improved. It Phantom 4 Pro v2.0 function forms a map of its environment in real time. The quadcopter chooses the best flight path to return home and can senses as far as 300 meters away to avoid obstacles. Forward and rearward obstacle sensing range has been increased, allowing the Phantom 4 Pro to fly at 31 miles per hour with full protection of its stereo vision obstacle sensing system. It makes fast, dramatic video easier and ultimately safer to capture.

Wingtra focuses a good percent of its efforts on research and development to keep its WingtraOne at the front edge of what is possible for professional survey and mapping solutions. As you can see, even with same GSD, the images vary based on the amount of noise. However, the biggest difference in this case is that, while flying the WingtraOne with the RX1R II 42MP camera, the coverage is much, much broader—230 ha compared to 35 ha . Practically, this means if you fly WingtraOne with the same 1.8 cm (0.7 in)px GSD as Phantom 4RTK, you are able to finish projects 7x faster. Full-frame also captures a wider field of view with every shot.

The internal hardware—dual inertial measurement units , along with satellite stabilization that utilizes both GPS and GLONASS—are the same as you get with the dji fly. Indoor flight, without the aid of GPS, utilizes the downward-facing Vision Positioning System sensors. They examine the ground below the drone and keep it steady, though they are ineffective when flying over reflective surfaces.

The subject lifts their arms when facing the camera, and the aircraft will recognize this movement by locking on and placing the subject in the center of the frame. When ready for a photo, the subject holds their arms out to signal the aircraft. A three-second countdown will begin, making time to strike a pose, allowing moments to be captured without the remote control.

If you’ve gotten to the point where you’re ready to purchase, the only other consideration is probably going to be the Phantom 4 Pro or the Mavic 2 Pro. Either way, we are confident that you will feel like get at least $1500 of value out of your drone. Tech The Night King Drone photographer Justin Moore reviews the DJI Mavic 3 Cine.

You also need to enable “Multiple Flight Mode” in the DJI Go app. While flying in sports mode you have full satellite and vision positioning support. The Pro also has a terrific camera with a 1 inch 20 megapixel CMOS sensor which is capable of shooting 4k at 60 frames per second video and Burst Mode stills at 14 frames per second. The RTK module is integrated directly into the DJI Phantom 4 RTK, providing real-time positioning data for improved absolute accuracy on image metadata. With consumer drone market booming and drones becoming more powerful, easier to use and equipped with rolling shutter cameras, there is an opportunity for professionals to use consumer drones for mapping work.
