Brunswick offered Mongoose to Pacific Cycle in 2000 and Pacific Cycle was purchased by Montreal-based Dorel Industries in 2004. By combining Pon.Bike and Dorel Sports, a quantity one bicycle firm in the world shall be created, with a combined revenue of around 2.5 billion euro. Mongoose is a model name of bicycles originally designed, manufactured, and offered by BMX Products, Inc. RECO was an entirely owned manufacturing division created for insurance coverage functions to be separate from BMX Products, Inc, even though RECO was at all times produced in-house.
It was headed by Vice President of Manufacturing Hoppy Brooks, in his try and market motorcycle frames. Skip Hess started BMX Products, Inc. out of his residence in Simi Valley, California in September 1974 together mongoose mountain bicycles with his first product being the well-known Motomag One wheel. In its early years Hess recalled that about 600 frames per day were produced at its Chatsworth, Los Angeles location.
