Weber Grills, Smokers & BBQ at Ace Hardware

Though it’s available with the same Titianium colored lid that all other gas models have, it is also available in several other colors as well. Red, blue, orange, and green colored lids are all unique to the Q1200, but it also has a black model, similar weber genesis 2 to the electric versions. Go hiking in nature with a grill as vibrant as the scenery. Travel on or off the beaten path, camp in the woods or near the shore. Explore the world with big taste and your Q 1200 portable gas grill by your side.

We put that phrase in quotations because the only thing that packs away are the side tables, which do conveniently fold up securely underneath the lid. My experience with both of these grills has been excellent. I don’t use them much anymore because I’m always testing new portable grills, but let me expand on that. Today I want to compare all the models you can choose from in the Series. Weber Q grills are some of my favorite portable grills, but there are quite a few differences between them. The cast iron grill grate itself is designed to cover the areas right above the burner, so I also noticed very few flareups and no smoking.

The Char Q was built on the 200 frame so it was a large portable charcoal grill and with the price of $150 it proved to be something not worth it for consumers. The Char Q was released in 2008 and Weber ended production in 2011. The only annoyance in the wind is the disposable aluminum drip tray liner, which is designed to save you from having to clean what can notoriously be the nastiest part of a grill. weber q Without some significant weight added — like a rock — you can expect that this drip pan will pick up and fly away with the first significant gust of wind. But even understanding the reasons behind the weight does not benefit this grill’s portability. Again, considering this grill against all other tabletop models in this review, the Q 1200 “packs down” to a less-than-reasonable 3.2 cubic-feet.

This is the first propane smoker with a thermostat, making this baby foolproof. Set ThermoTemp’s dial from 175° to 350°F and the thermostat inside will adjust the burner just like an indoor kitchen oven. All you need to do is add wood to the tray above the burner to start smokin’. Millions come to AmazingRibs.com every month for high quality tested recipes, tips on technique, science, mythbusting, product reviews, and inspiration. But it is expensive to run a website with more than 2,000 pages and we don’t have a big corporate partner to subsidize us.

This grill holds up to three good size steaks, or 6 medium burgers. I’ve used it for veggitables, warming up buns, and for foil packets. Ease of Use Like any other grill, turn on the gas and light it up. Ease of Cleaning Clean while still warm, so any stuck on food comes off. Durability This grill travels with us on every camping trip.

As far as I’m concerned, Weber is the standard for quality consumer grills at the mid to upper mid-range price category and so my expectations for its products are high. The Weber Traveler portable gas grill didn’t disappoint and I think this a solid value at $325. It’s a sturdily built unit that comes together in a snap and is completely user-friendly to boot. If you’ve never grilled a single day in your life, I still don’t think you have any problems assembling and operating this grill. The Traveler got and stayed nice and hot and controlling the temperature — while not perfectly precise — was fine for the type of grilling most people do.

The Q3200 is the only grill out of the weber charcoal grill Series with a warming rack, something rarely seen in my reviews. Those accustomed to cooking on a full-sized grill know that a warming rack makes a difference to your barbecuing. They both accept both the 14.1oz and 16.4oz disposable propane bottles. An adaptor hose can easily convert to a 20lb propane tank. This is far more cost-effective and won’t leave you running out of propane halfway through cooking a meal. This is a grill that was designed to last for years, which really should be no surprise if you have seen any of Weber’s products.

I’m already looking forward to taking it along with me this summer when I go camping in Northern California. This grill is easily big enough to cook for a family of four. This Q 3200 is a two burner, cart mounted grill that, in my opinion, looks sharp. Here is a quick rundown of the features and specifications of this grill.

You can set up or collapse the grill with one hand while you are holding a beer in another. The grill has a red rubber latch to keep the legs closed and a retractable lid latch that holds the lid in place during transport. To get the same portability for the Q2200 that you get with the Traveler then you will need to buy the portable cart separately for about $100. The biggest differences between these grills are price, styling, construction and portability. Gas canister or use an adapter hose to connect to a larger tank .

Last up is the cart itself, which while functional, is about as flimsy as the tables. The cart will do perfectly fine while you are grilling your burgers but has quite a bit of wobble once you grab a brush and try to scrape it clean. The Q2200 has a single burner the goes around the body of the grill.
