The Duo Nova display is very similar to the Duo, but it lacks a couple of smart programs such as Poultry and Multigrain. The pressure cooker lid on the Duo has undergone a design change. If you’re after a simple, no-fuss multicooker, the Instant Pot Duo Nova is a good option for beginners. If you have a large family, the 10-quart capacity is perfect for cooking up a storm, although you still have the smaller options to suit your needs. To install the Condensation Collector, align and slide the grooves on either side of the top of the reservoir over the tabs in the reservoir holder at the back of the cooker. The Anti-Block Shield prevents food particles from entering the Steam Release Valve and affecting the performance of the cooker. Remove by pressing firmly against the side of the Anti-Block Shield until it pops off of the spring tabs. Reinstall the Anti-Block Shield by centering it over the spring tabs and pressing down firmly until it snaps into place.
Display Status Icons show cooker status as described in “Status Indicators,” below. Timer/Readout shows countdown to Delay Start, cooking time remaining, and Keep Warm time passed in hours and minutes. Less – Normal – More indicate the selected Smart Program cooking time or temperature. Pressure Level Indicator shows the selected Smart Program pressure level.
If you want to save a little money or need the pasteurize option, then the Duo might be a better choice for you. Although the two Instant Pots are priced similarly, they differ in price ever so slightly. The Duo is the less expensive of the two, but both Instant Pots are cheap. Finally, in terms of add-ons, the instant pot duo nova includes the same stainless steel inner pot and trivet as other Instant Pots. The Instant Pot Duo Nova is available in four sizes , making it larger than all other Instant Pots .
Families of four require at least a 6-quart pot, while larger families will probably prefer 8 quarts. The slight improvements in design and functionality also make this version better suited to everyday needs. However, if you pay slightly more and purchase the Duo Nova, I suggest you get a somewhat better pressure cooker for not much more money. If you are brand new to pressure cooking, the Instant Pot Duo is a fantastic choice. If I were shopping for a new pressure cooker and were deciding between the two, I would more than likely go with the Duo Nova. instant vortex Another distinction is that the Duo Nova includes two sealing rings and a self-sealing lid, in contrast to the Duo, where the valve has to be manually sealed and only comes with one sealing ring.
