Bissell 2551 Series Crosswave Cordless Quick Start Guide

Decent battery life combined with fast cleaning should result in enough juice for most people to manage their homes. A relatively high price means that those on tighter budgets will be better off with a plug-in model. Admittedly this multi-surface tool isn’t as easy to manoeuvre as a stick vacuum is – or even an upright vacuum. It’s dyson robot vacuum heavy with a water tank on-board as well as a tank for collecting dirt, debris and dirty water. Though saying that, we did find that it gets into corners and along skirting boards. Going from hard floors to carpeted areas or rugs is quite easy, though depending on the difference in the thickness you may have to lift the machine.

The two-tank system keeps cleaning solution and dirty water separate. Cleaning the machine is easy with a touch of a button. Fill the tray with water and press a button to flush clean water through the machine. After using this machine you will want to press and hold the button that looks like a fan, just under the display, and it will begin a 30-second self-clean. You will still have to empty water tanks and clean brushes, but this does help along the way as it flushes out dirt, hair and debris from the appliance and brush roll.

Part of having a pet means having to bring out the mop and vacuum a bit more often. First, I started by spreading a teaspoon of flour onto the kitchen floor, right up against the skirting board. Running the cleaner through on vacuum mode, it picked up most of it when running the head along the skirting. Bissell says that shark cordless the edge performance is 60% better here than on the CrossWave Cordless – and it would appear so; there was just a small trace of dirt left to be collected. It is tempting to pull out the Crosswave and get the mopping done because it really is easy, but I have to plan before I mop. If the self-cleaning feature wasn’t enough, the Bissel Crosswave Max has more to make it even more dyson robot vacuum low maintenance. My first post went through my initial pros and cons of the Bissell Crosswave, and why I chose to buy it then. But as with every new household gadget, you get to know its quirks by using it for a while.

I opted for the gentle wooden floor setting and pushed and pulled it back and forth but, alas, the wooly roller remained dry. Until I spotted the water-dispensing dyson robot vacuum trigger on the handle. This writer despises household cleaning machines that can’t stand up on their own so you’ll be pleased to learn that this one can.

Thankfully, the CrossWave seems to remove more excess water than other models, leaving just a very thin film in its wake which evaporates in minutes. In fact, this part of the process impressed me so much that the machine has become my new go-to floor cleaner for all eventualities. There will be times, mind, when you will need to remove the dirty water container and rinse it under a sink, especially if the catch filter is clogged with hair or other unsightly muck.

You will need to put this docking station next to a plug socket. Preferably, this plug socket will be out of sight from you and your guests, since this machine isn’t exactly the smallest. This is one of our only issues with the BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max – it’s quite hard to store. Ours is currently sitting in our kitchen, charging through a plug that sits above our worktop. It’s worth us noting that this machine has to be sat on the dock to charge, and you’ll want to place it on there when self-cleaning, too. If you are short on storage space, this is not the appliance for you.
