If the battery level is below 72%, it is recommended to charge it until it is 72% before storing. If the battery level is above 72%, the battery will discharge automatically after 5 days to 72%. The international version of DJI Mini 2 differs from the Japanese version in weight, operating time, battery, and propellers. This is to reduce it below the lower 200 g weight limit for not needing to register your drone in Japan. The standard version of the DJI Mini 2 would be a great purchase for most people who simply want to take a few videos or photos from time to time. However, if you love having plenty of memories from your holidays, or everywhere you go, the fly more combo is a much better option. The extra intelligent flight batteries alone make this package worth the extra money. Another advantage of the Mavic Mini’s size is that it can stay in the air longer.
If you carry it on the shoulder, like it’s probably suppose to, I’m sure it’s more than fine. If you are replacing the case and buying a different charger, the combo is probably not a great deal. While the Mini 1 battery will fit and allow the drone to fly it really is not meant for the Mini 2. I’d stick to the battery made for it for the best performance. I know reports said Mini 1 li-ion battery can be used with Mini 2 drone, did it turned out it’s fully compatible (it won’t move around in the drone or damage the pins)?
It’s a nice change of pace to my overall approach that I wasn’t expecting when I started my review. The camera still has the same, small 1/2.3-inch 12MP sensor as the original Mini, but it produces much nicer photos than before. JPGs that you get right off the drone are fantastic, and you can “enhance” them within the DJI app. It applies some subtle adjustments to the overall contrast of the image, lifts shadows, and adds a bit of life to overall colors. I appreciate how subtle and effective these adjustments are. And though it obviously has a worse camera than DJI’s bigger drones, it’s still a very good camera.
There are aftermarket chargers that can get a recharge done much quicker if you have greater needs. I do not carry the charger phantom 4 in the case as there is no need in the woods and it will not fit. If I really need the charger, I can carry it seperately.
DJI Mini 2 has five QuickShots for you to choose from, allowing you to create cinematic masterpieces with just a tap. Select the shot you want, and let Mini 2 do the rest. If you already have a Mini and the improved video system is not something you want, then the price may be off-putting. It’s also not going to work for you if night flying is your thing. The DJI Mini 2 builds on the success of the previous Mavic Mini, providing a much better video shoot quality, while retaining the straight out of the pocket flying capability. The included three bay charger is compact and holds the battery securely.

Fly for up to 31 minutes with a fully-charged battery. I purchased the Fly More Combo and two additional batteries when acquiring my Mini 2. I’m happy with the set up for bikepacking and backpacking, but I did change the case to reduce the size of the the total package. Compactly fits drone, controller, 2 extra batteries, foldable sunscreen for phone when on controller, extra props and a few minor accessories. Each battery, if bought separately, has a cost of $55. The Mavic Mini managed to exceed our expectations of a drone this size, and we cannot find any way in which the Mini 2 is not the same or better.
