Instant Pot Duo Nova, 8

The Duo Nova includes upgrades to make using the Instant Pot even easier. Upgrades include the EasySeal Lid to automatically seal when pressure cooking and a cooking progress indicator, so you know when cooking begins. With 14 Smart Programs — ranging from meats, soup, stew, beans, chili, poultry, rice and yogurt, to multigrain, and slow cook — it puts cooking on autopilot. Dual-pressure settings give you the option to cook at Low or High pressure.

In other words, the next Instant Pot has the same functionality as the previous ones with a few snazzy additions. Sometimes, Instant Pot might tack on additional letters to the end of the model numbers to signify exclusive marketing relationships with retailers or version numbers. In 2018 Instant Pot decided not to just re-name existing models and two “unique” retail-specific models- NOVA for Costco and VIVA for QVC. On the whole, though, the classic LCD of the old Duo is still elegant enough to intuitively indicate the cooking process in its own right. Offering a higher level of convenience, the Nova’s intuitive status indicator also keeps you informed at every step of the cooking process.

Its actual cooking capabilities are the exact same as the Duo, as no new functions were introduced with this model. Regularly $75.23, you can get the 3-quart model today for $49.98 for a savings of $25.25. That’s a pretty great price for this adorable multi-cooker, which is the perfect size for whipping up a side dish or dinner for two. Instant Pot Duo Nova 100 is Instant Pot’s first-ever 10-quart pressure cooker. It is 1440 watts, almost 21 pounds, and 14.8″ long × 15.5″ wide × 14.7″ tall. You can make just about anything in an Instant Pot, especially if you have a model with an air frying lid.

With the new lid, it automatically seals to keep flavors, nutrients, and aromas inside. A new button makes it easier to release steam once the food is done cooking, and it’s placed away from the actual release valve so you shouldn’t experience burns from the hot steam coming out. The buttons are all big and easy-to-read, and the new LCD has a progress indicator to let you know when your pot is coming to pressure and when the cooking cycle begins.

It also upgrades the number of cooking programs to 28, the most of any Instant Pot family. The Instant Pot Duo Plus is a step up from the regular Duo, and those who make recipes like yogurts and desserts will probably appreciate the Plus. It adds in a few extra programs and features over the instant pot duo nova Duo. Anti-block shield prevents food particles from coming up through the steam release pipe, assisting with pressure regulation. While float valve is up, the contents of the cooker are pressurized. Refer to the “Venting Methods” section in this Guide for information on releasing pressure.

You can control it with your phone via the Instant Pot app. The app also has pre-programmed recipes and alerts to make cooking even easier. Reinstall the Float Valve by inserting it pipe-first into float valve hole in the top of the lid. Hold it in that position while firmly pressing the silicone cap on to the valve pipe protruding from the underside of the lid. Do not attempt to operate the pressure cooker without the float valve or silicone cap properly installed in the cooker lid. Steam Release Valve The Steam Release Valve opens to allow the release of pressure within the cooker when the Quick Release Button is pressed. The Steam Release Valve will also open automatically to regulate and maintain optimal pressure while cooking.

As usual, we’ll check each pot separately, and then we’ll talk pros & cons, ending with my honest opinion on which one I think wins the game. The only advantage it has to the older model is the up-to-date vent release knob, which is a tad safer. – Cuts off power if the internal temperature exceeds safety limits. – Cuts off power if the electrical current exceeds safety limits.
