Clermont Pellet Grill And Smoker Cgwm

I’ve previously done a Pit Boss vs Cuisinart comparison article where I reference that Pit Boss also doesn’t state the main grate size on the Lockhart. From the look of the two grills, I actually think the main cooking grate on both products is probably very similar in size. My general thoughts on the Clermont match the phase ‘two steps forward, one step back’. Hence, there is some progress here, however, its not where it needs to be on price/features. It not only looks sophisticated, it sets this pellet grill apart from others, because of the huge windows and massive cooking space. With superior counter space and hidden storage, I highly recommend the Clermont.

The technology is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth based remote monitoring, allowing you to control your cooks directly from your smartphone. You can remotely adjust temperature, set probes, monitor the cook on graphs, turn internal lights on and off, and even shut down the grill. Finally, I discuss the new kid on the block, charcoal pellets and their special attributes compared to all other hardwood BBQ pellets. If you’re not sure what a PID control panel is, and importantly, why you want one, my article linked above explains more. Put simply, a PID control panel can regulate the temperature inside the pellet grill/smoker much more precisely.

The wings burned on the right side of the grill while cooking perfectly on the left. This pellet grill did a fantastic job of holding temperatures at higher temps. Our chicken wings cooked evenly throughout the grill and resulted in a perfectly crispy exterior when set to 500°F. Unfortunately, the Cuisinart struggled a little with holding low temperatures, and we had to set the grill to 210°F to maintain an even 225°F for the brisket.

The comparison between Traeger and Cuisinart cuisinart griddler elite is a little difficult, its a similar situation to my comments made in my Traeger vs Pit Boss post. In that post, I discussed how with Pit Boss for the same budget you will get a pellet grill with a much larger cooking area.

Don’t know about this model at all, but my experience with the brand is just fine. Brush with a stainless-steel brush to remove all remaining food and grease. I must say, the Bluetooth feature itself is not a con, it’s absolutely wonderful actually. The only downsize is that I’ve heard that the signal range can be quite limited for some people. I did not have any issue with mine, but there’s a few factors that can influence Bluetooth connectivity like the location of your grill or your house configuration. Sometimes the signal can bounce off obstacles so if there’s a few walls between you and your grill, you might need to get closer to retrieve the signal back.

Now, for the last pre-cook step, keep the doors open and turn the grill back on. Then, set the grill to 500F and let it ride for a good 30 minutes. Like most pellet grills, the Clermont comes in a lot of parts and pieces and requires assembly. You only need a screwdriver and wrench, which are included with the hardware. When used at low-and-slow cooking temperatures, the pellets smoke and smolder, creating flavors similar to grilling over wood or charcoal. They can also be used at higher temperatures, and most manufacturers cap out at maximum temperatures between 400°F and 500°F. That’s not far from gas grills (which often max out at 550°F), but the use of a heat deflector plate prevents direct searing and grill marks. If the pellet grill features a sliding sear plate, it can be used to access the flames and cook food like it’s on a traditional grill. Pellet grills are different from other grills because they’re dual-fuel.
