Braun Series 5 5090cc 5190cc Review

My main gripe with this model is related to the shaving head. The power button is also used to activate the travel lock function; you do that by pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds. It also means the shavers will only operate cordless, so you can’t use them while charging. Also, since all the models in this new release start with 50, I will be referring to it as the Series 5 50 just to differentiate the new shavers from the old Series 5. Old S5 5140s costs more than new S6 6020s but from your reviews I’ve got a feeling the old one is better.

Braun Series 5

All the new Series 5 shavers are fitted with a rechargeable Li-ion battery that provides up to 50 minutes of use. The Series 5 from Braun is one of the company’s most compelling lines of electric shavers for men. Also, I find the Arc 5 a bit too aggressive for shaving the head.

The 5090cc; 5030s; 5020s; are dry only shavers while 5040s; 5197cc; 5195cc; 5190cc; 5145s; 5147s; 5140s are for both wet and dry shaves. Now I will talk about 5 of the bestselling Braun Series 5 models. Speed is always important when looking at shaving performance.

Sophisticated yet simple, the design of the Braun Series cc is one of the most attractive we’ve seen. The most recent or third-generation existing Series 5 models come with 51xx numeric assertions like Braun 5190cc, 5140s, 5195cc, and more. The third generation Series 5 shavers are rolling out on the market now. Finally, the new 2020 version of shavers are a hot topic among the users and experts. The new version Series 5 models come with 50xx assertion like the existing second-generation models. I’ll analyze all the available models on the market separately for your convenience.

The 5030s on the other hand is more powerful and deals better with longer hairs, which will likely require fewer strokes. It’ll probably take you less time to shave Braun Series 5 as well, further reducing the chances of irritation. Yes, the Series 5 is a suitable shaver for users with sensitive skin, especially in its price range.

As ergonomic as it might appear, the trimmer does not protrude from the shaver’s head and let you check how the trimming is going on. Besides, each cutting element in both shavers can swivel horizontally and vertically on its own. One thing to tell the difference between the two models is the presence of a skin guard in Series 7. The SmartClick precision trimmer is very easy to attach and detach to shave and trim with the device.

Aside from the affordable price, Series 5 and Series 7 are comparable on many features, and Series 3 is very close to Series 7 in performance. We hope the price drop is just to be more competitive and this new addition performs as good, if not better, as we are used to from seeing Braun shavers. Thus, overall, apart from the charging stand and different accessories, there is nothing to choose between these three shavers.

I had a replacement under warranty and the same happened again. Out of the three models, I personally wouldn’t consider the Series 3 CoolTech. The Series 5 and Series 7 are superior in pretty much every aspect. The CoolTech is a Series 3 after all and while the cooling technology does sound intriguing, its effectiveness is debatable. I have seen a few of your reviews and they have all given me very detailed information with comparison, thank you so much!! As a female , I would like to seek your advice on choosing a suitable, good-value Braun shaver for my partner.

On the other hand, the 5190cc has a plastic cap (the other one doesn’t). That’s it really, no differences regarding the performance or anything else. It is nice to see someone who uses the products doing reviews. However, reading your answers to everyone’s questions you repeatedly prefer the 7, even for sensitive skin. Hi, I’ve had 7 series for the last 11 years and have been relatively happy with it. However, they have a flaw where the trimmer pullback mechanism breaks and the trimmer doesn’t fully recede into the unit.
