When I first got the bissell crosswave cordless Max, I was still learning how to use the self-cleaning function. Well, once I purchased the Bissell Crosswave last year, I quickly found out the answer – Yes! I discussed last year how the Crosswave worked beautifully on my floors and really made it easy to freshen up my space.
Although this model is called the CrossWave Cordless Max, it’s no bigger than the previous CrossWave Cordless. In fact, at just 5.22kg, this model is actually lighter than its predecessor. It’s also the recipient of a few design tweaks that make it the better cleaner overall. Some of my favorite parts include its two-in-one design, its self-cleaning feature, and of course, its carelessness.
If done while it’s already on the floor, chances of the roller having uneven formula distribution become higher. It’s a neat thing but probably won’t be used very much by the average buyer. Nevertheless, the addition is nice and shows how much Bissell is willing to go for their product to evolve into being “smart” vacuums. The 2554A has a battery indicator close to the handle. It lets you know about its power levels after ten minutes passes. There’s a vacuum out there for literally every kind of household and every type of cleaner.

Another significant difference between the two devices is power input. The Pet Pro is a corded device that offers unlimited cleaning time. The CrossWave Cordless runs on battery power and cannot clean large areas non-stop. The Pet Pro comes with two brush rolls compared to only one that you get with the CrossWave cordless. As you make your way towards a rug or an area that’s carpeted, hit the button to activate the vacuum, and the mop stops immediately. As the ruler cuts on and begins to mop your hard floors, it’s even quieter. I personally would never consider cleaning up a mess like hummus or peanut butter with the X7, but for testing purposes, I tried it out. While it took a few passes to clean up a massive glob of hummus, it actually did so quite well.

Cleaning the Bissell Crosswave Cordless was quite straightforward and don’t even need to take the brush roll out. You had me at cordless but THEN you said it was a vacuum and a cleaner at the same time. I have to vacuum all of my floors and then steam them. Admittedly this multi-surface tool isn’t as easy to manoeuvre as a stick vacuum is – or even an upright vacuum. It’s heavy with a water tank on-board as well as a tank for collecting dirt, debris and dirty water. Though saying that, we did find that it gets into corners and along skirting boards. Going from hard floors to carpeted areas or rugs is quite easy, though depending on the difference in the thickness you may have to lift the machine. This multi-surface cleaner is smooth to use, with great suction whether going over pet hair or cleaning spillages. It’s also easy to use with a sleek digital interface – just press the button on the handle to power on, and select whether you are using it on hard or soft flooring.
The best way to avoid this is to pull out any accumulation midway through cleaning, although I wish I didn’t have this issue to begin with. There’s something incredibly satisfying in being pleased with a cleaning machine when you’re not a natural ‘cleaner’. I may have approached the Bissell Crosswave Cordless as a new toy, to begin with, but by the time I finished, it has become an essential tool. After using it, I was left with a clean, shiny laminate flooring, sparkling tiles in the kitchen, fresh rugs in the sitting and lounging areas and a clean carpet upstairs.
