India Vs New Zealand Highlights, T20 World Cup 2021

New Zealand are one hit away from winning the match now. Well, New Zealand had only 111 runs to chase and they did that with utmost ease. Their openers, Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell started well but just as the former was looking to tee off he perished. Daryl Mitchell though carried on his merry way and he found boundaries at will in the middle.

New Zealand did better in their powerplay and had knocked off half of their their target in the first seven overs, losing only the wicket of Martin Guptill . The New Zealand attack operated with exemplary discipline, conceding only two sixes as they subdued one of the most star-studded batting line-ups of the tournament. New Zealand have been India’s bogey team in recent global tournaments having prevailed over Virat Kohli’s men in the semi-finals of the 2019 ODI World Cup and the final of the World Test Championship this year.

In the past, passionate and combustible cricket fans have smashed TV sets, pelted stones at the players’ houses, and burnt their effigies when their team has lost. But as online abuse becomes the dominant form of venting, many worry about the toxicity cricketers face on social media. When India’s cricket team lost last Sunday’s key match to Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in Dubai, Indian fans took to social media to passionately vent their anger. In Round 1, all eight teams play three matches each to qualify for the Super 12 stage. The T20 World Cup format then allows each team to play every other team in their group to try and finish first or second in their respective groups. The top two teams from each group then go on to play the semi-finals with the winners then being one step away from holding the big trophy.

Brazil, France, Italy, Germany, and Mexico have each hosted twice, while Uruguay, Switzerland, Sweden, Chile, England, Argentina, Spain, the United States, Japan and South Korea , South Africa, and Russia have each hosted once. Qatar will host the 2022 tournament, and 2026 will be jointly hosted by Canada, the United States, and Mexico, which will give Mexico the distinction of being the first country to host games in three World Cups. Rahul could have been the batsman to have come in at No. 4 with Kohli staying at No. 3, or later in the order as he has shown that he is capable of throwing his bat around in the death overs. Or, in a like-for-like replacement, India should have played Kishan at No. 4 in Suryakumar Yadav’s slot without disturbing the top-order. New Zealand, which had a negative NRR after their loss to Pakistan, improved it to +0.765 after their eight-wicket win completed in under 15 overs.

The first two World Cup matches took place simultaneously on 13 July 1930, and were won by France and the US, who defeated Mexico 4–1 and Belgium 3–0 respectively. The first goal in World Cup history was scored by Lucien Laurent of France. In the final, Uruguay defeated Argentina 4–2 in front of 93,000 people in Montevideo, and became the first nation to win the World Cup. After the creation of the World Cup, FIFA and the IOC disagreed over the status of amateur players, and so football was dropped from the 1932 Summer Olympics. After the IOC and FIFA worked out their differences, Olympic football returned at the 1936 Summer Olympics, but was now overshadowed by the more prestigious World Cup. After FIFA was founded in 1904, it tried to arrange an international football tournament between nations outside the Olympic framework in Switzerland in 1906.

An equivalent tournament for women’s football, the FIFA Women’s World Cup, was first held in 1991 in China. The women’s tournament is smaller in scale and profile than the men’s, but is growing; the number of entrants for the 2007 tournament was 120, more than double that of 1991. On 4 June 2015 Chuck Blazer while co-operating with the FBI and the Swiss authorities admitted that he and the other members of FIFA’s then-executive committee were bribed in order to promote the 1998 and 2010 World Cups. On 10 June 2015, Swiss authorities seized computer data from the offices of Sepp Blatter. The same day, FIFA postponed the bidding process for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in light of the allegations surrounding bribery in the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 tournaments.
