Reminds me so much of the older perfume called Dolce Vita, by Dior. I remember when I was a kid I would use my mother’s perfumes, and dolce vita was a beloved one. I believe it’s the heliotrope and sandalwood that to me are very present in this scent, in its entirety.
Light Blue Intense is amuch better smellingand longer lasting version of the already best selling original version. Has a semi fresh, fruity vibe with sweetness and slight florals. “La Vie Est Belle” is French for “Life is Beautiful,” and this certainly is a beautiful perfume.
Compared to the original the patchouli is way toned down, and it’s a smoother kind of patch, not as high-pitched and fizzy, almost like dark chocolate. The iris is more waxy and not as oppressively powdery as it can be in LVEB on the wrong person. The whole fragrance is warmer, more comforting and just not as sugary-sparkly. To be fair it doesn’t smell that similar to the original, but some smaller similarities are there.
The drydown of vanilla&co with all the notes before, which lasts for hours on the skin and days on the clothes, is a hug that we want, need, wish for. I love the opening sweet but fruity sweet I guess it must be the lovely combination of raspberry and vanilla. I love the warm sweet vanilla note, but there’s something there that just irritates me right from the start.
