The Carbon

I sincerely prefer the mineral glass over the sapphire crystal because of the way it behaves over time but that’s more of a personal opinion. The stainless steel resin case is of incredibly good quality and trust me it can be reliable for lots of years from the moment you buy it. The band material is a good-feeling resin that Casio pretty much used in all G-Shock with some exception, so nothing new here. As the previous model, the G-Steel also features a „hands out of the way” function which will put the hands in a position that will let you see all of the background indicators.

Another factor that plays into its poor legibility is that this particular Mudmaster uses a negative display for the digital readout. It’s hard to use any of the functions during the day much less the night. However, while you might think that anything that keeps out water would easily be able to prevent mud ingress as well, the small particles in mud and dust present challenges of their own. These “mud-resistant” watches g shock watch use a special “filter” behind the buttons and a steel case back covered by a layer of plastic resin. In testing, mud didn’t seem to hurt the watch’s functions at all, but it is hard to completely clean from the many nooks, crannies, and facets of the Mudmaster’s complex case. In addition to offering shock resistance, the watch is constructed for mud resistance and is ready to withstand working amid mud and rubble.

Measuring in at a bold 53.1mm wide by 55.4mm lug-to-lug with a thickness of 19.3mm, the Mudmaster makes quite the statement. It’s not just large for the sake of being large, as the case houses the G-SHOCK “Quad Sensor” – an array of tools including a thermometer, altimeter/barometer, digital compass, and step counter. Metal button pipes for each of the six buttons make for a tighter seal to keep out mud and debris, while a dual-layer caseback further ensures protection from the elements. Last one to highlight in the twin sensor collection is G Shock Mud Master GG A5DR, available in color tan. The Neo-Brite luminous hands will let you read the hour in dark situations along with the marking in the right of every hour. As said before new materials have been used in the manufacturing of this watch in order to create a two-layer guard structure that confers it a great shock resistance that you rarely see on other watches.

If you are out hiking, there often tends to be informed about the current height, for example on signs or on maps. The triple sensor rating simply means that it can measure pressure , has an altimeter function, compass, and temperature. These are all sensor functions that can be important when performing outdoor activities. The triple sensor function is incorporated into the case via an opening which can be found on the left side of the case, next to the text which indicates so. This is a quartz watch that has both an analog display and an LCD screen.

While a lot of digital watches like to boast tons of features, none of those features really matter unless the timepiece’s user interface makes using those tools accessible. Casio is getting better and better about this, and it honestly makes wearing the latest technically interesting G-Shock watches all the more satisfying. A triple layered structure with a carbon fiber sheet inserted between fine resin.

The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe’s mantra “never, never give up”. The funny thing about this watch, is that Casio doesn’t advertise the temperature selection on its wheel of functions. In fact, you probably wouldn’t know it even read the temperature if you didn’t read the instructions. The watch has not one, but two batteries, and neither of them are solar. This isn’t out of character for a G-Shock, but the Tough Solar tech does show up in G-Shocks at this price range.

All these together add up to so many possible features that consumers may be easily overwhelmed, and even Casio has trouble explaining it all. G-Shock watches mostly share a basic set of features, with more involved and premium models building upon them. Stylistic elements aside, g shock watch the differences between G-Shock families and models can largely be divided into durability and technology features. Basic models are famously shock-resistant, water-resistant to 200m, and have functions including timers, world time, calendar data, and LED backlights.

Carbon Core Guard structureThis new shock resistant structure protects modules with a carbon fiber reinforced resin case. The band surface is processed to resemble a cloth band texture, and the hour and minute hands are shaped with points that make them resemble warning markers. All buttons have a checkered surface for surer operation, and the overall design is tough and rugged. Designed for strength and functionality to survive the extremes, G-Shock‘s incredibly robust Mudmaster is quickly becoming one of the brand’s most sought-after piece. The Mudmaster lineup is designed and engineered for those who work in extreme environments scattered with rubble, dirt, and debris.
