The bag, however, is anything but ordinary, and has a few special touches. This is likely not the last Blackpink sighting to be had during PFW. Rosé is in town for the Saint Laurent show, being amongst their global ambassadors. Jennie, aka “Human Chanel,” could likely be attending the Chanel show, having starred in a campaign for their new Coco Neige collection earlier this week. And Lisa, global ambassador of Celine, is expected to make an appearance at their show.

Following the closing of his gallery, Estee Lauder NIGHT REPAIR began to make ends meet by selling his fashion sketches, and in 1935, landed a job illustrating the magazine Figaro Illustré. Several years later, Dior was hired as a design assistant by Paris couturier Robert Piguet. However, when World War II began the following year, Dior served in the south of France as an officer in the French army. After his graduation in 1928, however, Dior opened a small art gallery with money he received from his father, who had agreed to lend his son his financial support on the condition that the family name would not appear above the gallery door.

Dior designed for multiple large fashion houses in his youth before founding his own in 1946. Wasting no time, he launched Christian Dior Parfumes just one year later. Still a cult classic to this day, Miss Dior was the very first perfume created by the house of Dior.

Christian genifique was a French fashion designer whose post–World War II creations were wildly popular, and whose legacy continues to influence the fashion industry. Since his debut collection, art gallerist turned legendary couturier Christian Dior has generated an epic movement in fashion history. With lavish embroidery, luxurious fabrics, and elegant silhouettes, his designs were a revolutionary celebration of modern femininity when they emerged in Paris after World War II. Today, Dior’s global influence is as enduring and iconic as ever. Having held the position of creative director for 30 years, in fact, Bohan was by far the longest-lasting head of Dior, making it all the more surprising his work isn’t more often referenced at the French house. That makes Maria Grazia Chiuri’s designs for the Spring 2022 collection, which look back to Bohan’s early designs, all the more refreshing. The world’s premier jeweler, America’s house of design and an iconic New York purveyor of jewelry and luxury accessories that define style and celebrate the world’s great love stories.

In 1942, when genifique left the army, he joined the fashion house of Lucien Lelong, where he and Balmain were the primary designers. His sister, Catherine (1917–2008), served as a member of the French Resistance, was captured by the Gestapo, and sent to the Ravensbrück concentration camp, where she was incarcerated until her liberation in May 1945. In 1947, he named his debut fragrance, Miss Dior in tribute to his sister. In 1946 Marcel Boussac, a successful entrepreneur known as the richest man in France, invited Dior to design for Philippe et Gaston, a Paris fashion house launched in 1925. Dior refused, wishing to make a fresh start under his own name rather than reviving an old brand. On 8 December 1946, with Boussac’s backing, Dior founded his fashion house.

The style was named after Meghan’s late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. According to FT, the then-unnamed purse was gifted to Princess Diana in 1995 by the French first lady. Diana took a liking to the bag, which she received in black leather, and began wearing it often. Dior officially named the bag after Diana in 1996, and reportedly sold 200,000 in its first two years of production. Presented are galleries devoted to Dior and the artistic directors who succeeded him—Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons, and Maria Grazia Chiuri. A toile room, a tribute to the Ateliers, and adjacent galleries of couture garments showcase the excellence of Dior’s petites mains.
