This will probably appeal to lovers of strong white florals that are not balanced by spices or oak moss . I was never a fan of Ralph Lauren fragrances but after announcing the release of Polo Ralph Lauren t shirt this fragrance I was intrigued and had to give it a try. Woman by Ralph Lauren is for the classy, poised & young modern woman who embodies femininity but also has an androgynous side.
It reminds me of Gabrielle by Chanel, probably because of the tuberose note. It’s feminine and appropriate for any occasion or time of year. This lasts all day on me and can still be smelled on clothes for days after. What I can’t understand is, I do not normally like floral fragrances yet I am drawn to this. It reminds me of that old school perfume “Fracas” mixed with some other sweet scent. It has lasting power on me and not offensively strong.
It’s very pretty, sweet, floral, woodsy and quite wearable. Matches with casual clothing or semi formal blouses and dresses. When i was at the mall 2-3 months ago i was sniffing my way around the perfume counters with a sales associate tailing me trying to sell me on certain frags. She held up RL woman and told me to try it and i politely declined. I hadn’t smelled anything that i loved by RL since Ralph when i was 18. I had gotten a magazine with the insert inside and decided to smell it without being pressured to buy it.
The white floral is well done here, really smooth and not super heavy. I don’t get a lot of rose, the tuberose drowns it out on polo dress shirts my skin. There is a brief tangy note in the very beginning but this settles in to “pretty floral” almost right away on me.
Totally a fruity as it opens with a pear scent, shampoo from the store pear, but good. The rhubarb note I believe is giving it this shampoo effect. This ralph lauren t shirt initial spray is quite good and refreshing and summery. So this is a good fragrance to wear around this time of year or earlier in the spring time.
When I spray it into the air or even the opening on my skin, it’s beautiful. However, very quickly this becomes an orange blossom dominant scent, just very perfume-y smelling and not much else. Borderline hairspray on the dry down on my skin. Normally I dislike tuberose because I think it overshadows all the other components in a perfume.
