The porcelain coating usually makes such grates easier to clean than other surfaces, and the grates should resist rust as long as their porcelain coating isn’t chipped. The tried and true Weber Cooking System is great at providing even heat distribution and minimizing flare ups. The Genesis II features porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grids. The Weber 2022 Genesis series features improved functionality and aesthetics that took a great grill line and made it better. I’m still on the fence with the idea of a smart gas grill. The smart pellet grills are nice to have because they are typically running all night on long smoke cooks but gas grills are usually short cooks. Maybe this smart functionality will change the way we cook with gas. I give kudos to Weber for updating their Flag Ship grill.
Weber’s Genesis series of propane grills has provided casual barbecue fans with the ideal entry point to backyard cooking. Combining 39,000 BTUs of grilling power with 600 square inches of cooking space, there’s plenty of grill to play with on the E-310. The primary cooking space on this grill amounts to 770 square inches, in addition to the 228 square inch warming rack.
They deliver steady pressure and precise front-to-back alignment, which ensures even heating. Either one of these grills could be considered suitable for a family of 5 to 6 people. The difference in size is so small as to be barely noticeable. However, since the updated models are technically bigger, we’ll award them the top prize in this category.
For the most part, the grilling community seems to agree that the E-310 has impressive storage, space, and overall build compared to most gas weber charcoal grill grills. I fell in love with the warming rack area as it kept my food warm. With a surface of 156 square inches, it offered plenty of space.
I had centered a temperature probe on the indirect side, allowing me to keep the lid down for consistency in testing. Less necessary are little LEDs that light up the dials. As far as I know, it’s still stuck and the lights are still on.
Check out the original Genesis grills if you don’t have the patio space for one of the broader Genesis II models. All Genesis grills come with an angled grease tray, which directs any runoff into a disposable catch pan. Both the grease tray and the catch pan can be removed for easy cleaning, and the pan can be thrown out and replaced when it reaches its capacity. To achieve this, Weber updated the burner design for the Genesis II models.
