The burner ports have a rounded shape instead of narrow slits, and they’re also larger in size. This means that the ports are less likely to become clogged due to corrosion or grease buildup, which cuts down on maintenance. While the numbers don’t point to any discernible difference, the burners on the updated model are more powerful overall.
For the most part, the grilling community seems to agree that the E-310 has impressive storage, space, and overall build compared to most gas grills. I fell in love with the warming rack area as it kept my food warm. With a surface of 156 square inches, it offered plenty of space.
Because the original line has been discontinued by Weber, it’s difficult to tell whether this change is true of all the Genesis II models. Plus, each burner ignites independently, with infinite adjustments between “on” and “full,” giving you total control over your heat distribution. Since the grill rests on an open cart, it doesn’t feel overly bulky. But, there’s lots of storage space between the slatted lower shelf and the wire shelf that holds the grease weber q drip pan. It’s ideally suited to grillers who love to cook all the barbecue favorites like steaks, burgers, chops, and more to absolute perfection. Plus, with three burners, you can set up multi zone cooking for roasts, whole poultry, and other large cuts. For $200 more, you get an extra burner and enhanced performance.
The Genesis II series also has more space to grill with compared to the Spirit II series. All models of the fully loaded Gensis II Special Edition comes commerical grade 9 mm Stainless Steel Cooking Grill Grates, and the Weber iGrill 3 (app-connected digital thermometer). It also comes with a warranty, as do all grills from Weber.
