The control valve and ignition button simply slip into place, and the ignition even comes with the necessary AAA battery. Once that’s done, all that’s left to do is place the grates on the grill and slide the catch pan into place. Once assembled, it was time to give the Weber a go at its most important duty. At 1,300 BTUs, the Weber has a good punch of power for a “portable” grill so I expected some serious heat. The ignitor worked and the grill lit on the first attempt. The internal temp quickly rose to just about 500 degrees F with the lid closed but didn’t exceed that temp.
If I hated how it heated up or something, I would have said so. The ability of keeping an unbiased review would be tainted by receiving and keeping an expensive product regardless of whether they call it a gift.
Weber Q3200 grill offers the largest cooking space in the whole series. With 393 square inches of cooking space, you can cook much more at the same time. However, its larger capacity increases its dimensions to 55.5 x 50.2 x 30 inches, which reduces its portability.

Throughout my testing, I was easily able to achieve temperatures of 450 to 500 degrees with this portable grill, which was enough for my needs. The cart does collapse and you can roll the thing around but you will not want to. As far as I’m concerned, Weber is the standard for quality consumer grills at the mid to upper mid-range price category and so my expectations for its products are high. The Weber Traveler portable gas grill didn’t disappoint and I think this a solid value at $325. It’s a sturdily built unit that comes together in a snap and is completely user-friendly to boot. If you’ve never grilled a single day in your life, I still don’t think you have any problems assembling and operating this grill. The Traveler got and stayed nice and hot and controlling the temperature — while not perfectly precise — was fine for the type of grilling most people do.
Everything came off the porcelain-enameled cast iron easily, especially because the grates were still a bit warm. Furthermore, the liquid propane grill provides BTU-per-hour from its two burners that can heat the grill quite fast.
