Apart from some of the in-app buttons being slightly larger now, Darren says that he doesn’t see the need for people to update the dji drones app since there are no other significant improvements. If anything, there were two new issues that appear to be related to the updated DJI Fly App. Ultimately, Darren advised against updating the app because he felt there were no significant improvements over the previous version.

To set the photo aspect ratio, simply tap the 3-dots button on the top right corner of your DJI Fly app, go to Camera tab, and you can change the photo aspect ratio from the size option. Anything lower than that, there is a high chance that your drone will run out of battery before it gets back to where it took off which is not something I would risk on my new drone. One of the things that make drone footage so mesmerizing to watch is the sense of motion that it gives to the landscape but in order to do that, your footage must have some surface to create motion. Talking about the Return to Home feature, it is great and all but there is one situation where you should not be using the Return To Home feature when there is a strong wind. There is a higher chance that you will hit something especially when you are indoor where the GPS signal can not reach the drone, and it won’t be able to hold its location very well. Plus, it is best that you test out the control first to see how fast it moves and indoor is not the best place to do that.

If there is a problem in the phantom 4 process, it is recommended to turn off the drone and the control, close the application and try again. Imagine flying the drone as high as you can and you start moving forward. In your footage, you won’t be able to see the motion at all since your drone is so high up that there is nothing in the frame to signify that the drone is in fact moving. There are tons of flight patterns with varying difficulties and so be sure to experiment with angles, speed, and perspective before you arrive at a dji fly location. One of my favorite flight patterns is to fly straight while increasing altitude while the camera smoothly tilts down to focus on the subject as you can see from above. More often than not, when you are in the mountains, the higher the altitude the stronger the wind. The Return to Home feature is also a fallback feature for when your remote control loses the signal to the drone.
