BP742N ‘s measurement was between 3-10 higher than my old one. It features a two user mode that tracks the last 30 readings for each of two people using the monitor and Advanced Averaging of the last 3 readings over a 10 minute time span. This keeps omron 5 series the cuff firmly positioned in place, further ensuring the accuracy of results. However, some of these users do not recommend it as an accurate device since they received higher or lower readings in comparison to their physician’s equipment.
Whether you have a standard- or large-sized arm, the cuff comfortably fits adult arms from 9” to 17” in circumference. Omron’s Upper Arm blood pressure monitors always have a longer battery life than their wrist monitors. That’s because they use 4 ‘AA’ batteries instead of 2 ‘AAA’, which means they have a battery life of 1000 measurements, compared to 300 with the wrist devices. Although many blood pressure monitors are automatic, you’ll find some that require you to press on a bulb repeatedly to manually inflate the cuff. You can save money by opting for one of these models, and you’ll likely also find they’re more durable than their mechanically inclined counterparts.
We will, at our option, replace without charge any monitor or arm cuff covered by the above warranty. Replacement is our only responsibility, and your only remedy under the above warranty. The cuff inflates around standard and large-sized arms ranging from 9” to 17” in circumference.
The bottom edge of the arm cuff should be 1/2 inch above the elbow. The air tube is on the inside of your arm and aligned with your omron blood pressure middle finger. Blood pressure can differ between the right and left arm which causes the blood pressure values to be different.
There are more than bells and whistles to a blood pressure monitor. Accuracy is a top priority, but it can get confusing since many devices promise accurate results. One method some devices use is averaging, which takes multiple readings and gives you the average of all.
