Bad pellet grills have you run it under the lid where the wire can be damaged. Most pellet grills offer a small hole in the side of the cooking chamber to feed the probe and wire through. With the Clermont here, the probes plug into ports inside the cooking chamber. Now, not all pellet grills will benefit from an insulated blanket to the same degree. As David discusses in his video above, some pellet grills are fabricated with twin-wall construction.
Grills nicely and is a pretty decent smoker which I do weekly. The Cuisinart Clermont Pellet Grill is designed to look innovative and offers a huge smoking space. While I will agree that this pellet smoker has some innovation, I can’t say that I like it. First of all, Cuisinart talks about it being an 8 in 1 cooker. They say it can bake, roast, smoke, chargrill, etc.

Place a small handful of pellets into the fi re pot. Squirt a gelled fi re starter, or other appropriate pellet starter, over the top of the pellets. A small amount of solid fuel fi re starter, such as those composed of sawdust and wax, or wood shavings, is also recommended.
Despite the great features, this is a large, big-box pellet grill that sells for $700USD. Despite the 233 pounds that this grill weighs, the quality is limited. Obviously, great attention was paid to the designing of this grill. Unfortunately, the same attention isn’t being applied to the manufacture. This is too much grill for the price and quality suffers. I really want to like this grill, I just don’t believe it will last very long.
