The moosoo air fryer has 15 one touch preset programs covering off the main foods you’re likely to cook in the multi-cooker, as well as various manual settings for the different functions. But it has far fewer preset programs than you’ll see on some other Instant Pots such as the more expensive Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus, which has 48 customizable presets. Additionally, the quick steam release switch is separate from the steam valve, and ensures you can force the pressure to be released in a safer way. There’s also a progress bar on the LCD display screen to indicate the cooking status but these are minimal differences and this is reflected in the similar price tags.
Page 24Pressure Control Features Remove the Float Valve by pulling the Float Valve Silicone Cap off the Float Valve pipe and removing the float valve from top of lid. Reinstall the Float Valve by inserting it pipe-first into float valve hole in the top of the lid. Hold it in that position while firmly pressing the silicone cap on to the valve pipe protruding from the underside of the lid. Do not attempt to operate the pressure cooker without the float valve or silicone cap properly installed in the cooker lid. Steam Release Valve The Steam Release Valve opens to allow the release of pressure within the cooker when the Quick Release Button is pressed. The Steam Release Valve will also open automatically to regulate and maintain optimal pressure while cooking.
The Instant Pot Pro Plus is the only other model that is able to do canning. The trade-off is that the Max doesn’t do Sous Vide, while the Pro does. You’ll need to weigh your priorities to figure out which feature is more important. The Instant Pot Pro also comes with 28 one-touch smart cooking programs, which blows the 15 of the Max out of the water.
The Smart app lets you dictate specific temperatures and duration of your recipes in unlimited sequences. Be aware that different Instant Pot sizes cook differently, but most online instructions are designed for 6-quart models. As a result, you’ll have to learn how to properly scale the recipes if you choose a different size. With revolutionary smart multi-cookers featuring new functions and uses constantly in development, it can be hard to tell Instant Pot products apart — especially the Instant Pot Duo and Duo Nova.
Of course, with higher price comes more advanced features. Anyone with a big family will find the 8-quart Instant Pot is a perfect option for everyday needs. That being said, due to its large and bulky size, this tool isn’t ideal for small kitchens. Choosing the right Instant Pot size depends on the demands of your household and the size of your intended meals. If you have a small family (2-4 members) and do not want to make a lot of food, the 3-quart Instant Pot is typically a great choice.
First off, the rubber gasket on the lid is easily removable, and the lid itself is a single piece. This makes cleaning and drying easier than some other models that use two-piece lids designs that introduce nooks and crannies where water and gunk can hide. This makes it a bit harder to scrub clean than many of its non-stick counterparts but also means it can unequivocally go in a dishwasher. There is a bit of a debate about whether stainless or non-stick pressure cooker pots are easier to clean, and that debate largely centers around whether or not the non-stick pots can go into a dishwasher. We used the Instant Pot Duo Nova for several recipes to try out its performance across different functions. First up, slow cooked chili, the sauté function comes in handy here, allowing you to brown your meat and soften onions in the Instant Pot instead of having to use a separate pan or stove top.
While you can still get a Duo Nova Instant Pot in 3-, 6-, and 8-quart sizes, the 10-quart Instant Pot Duo Nova has been discontinued. If you’re still interested in this product, it’s 99% identical to the current Instant Pot Duo.
