Hamilton Beach MultiBlend Blender review: Basic blending on a budget but not much power or extras

We had to shake the blender pitcher multiple times to get it going, and it took a full 90 seconds before it was even close to being acceptably blended. Even then, it was still very grainy and had unincorporated oats at the end, but we would consider it a successful smoothie. The Hamilton Beach 58148A performed similarly with our berry smoothie. It took a little over a minute to successfully blend the green smoothie. It managed to fully incorporate all of the ingredients, but the texture wasn’t the best.

Still, if affordable all-purpose blending is what you’re after, then the Multiblend can get the job done, just not with any real speed or style. Surprisingly, we found this blender did exceptionally well at creating nut butter — something that traditionally stymied the cheaper blenders. It took hamilton blender a little help to get it started, but it ran for the full 8 minutes, producing a smooth and creamy almond/peanut butter. We also liked that it didn’t need any assistance from us once it got going and didn’t require any additional oil. Most people want their kitchen appliances to be easy to use.

Compared with the monsters of the blending world, the Blendtec Wildside , Vitamix 7500 , or Ninja Ultima , the MultiBlend seems cute and even harmless. The Hamilton Beach 58148A struggled with the powdered sugar test, failing to do much of anything to the granulated sugar after 60 seconds of blending. A small amount could be considered powdered sugar but the bulk of it was definitely still granulated. On top of that, we didn’t register much of a temperature increase at all, and the soup definitely required additional heating before serving. Sorry, it looks like some products are not available in selected quantity. In order to fix it, you must repair the power cord using this guide.

It is important to know the capabilities of your blender and to use it in a way that optimizes its blending capacity (see below). Usually, if a product doesn’t work right away or breaks after the first use, you can assume you just got a lemon. A faulty blender should just immediately be returned/replaced because it is obviously not working as intended if it breaks after one blend and can’t even blend fresh fruit.

Make sure the drinking hole is closed and the lid is fully pressed to the container. Check to see if the cord to the blender hamilton blender did not get unplugged while using the blender. If the blender is not plugged in, plug it back in and turn it on once more.

This blender comes in several color variants, including Black, White, Red, Raspberry, Blue, hamilton beach smoothie blender and Green. We tested the Black variant; you can see the label for the model we tested here.

It costs a fraction of the top models while delivering respectable results. However, if you’re seeking the premium performance of a high-powered blender, we’d look elsewhere — just know that you’ll have to pay for it. This blender struggled the most with our fruit & oat smoothie, a recipe with no liquid.
